What Is Somaek?
A portmanteau of Soju and Maekju (beer), somaek is Korea's own version of a bomb shot — mixing the two drinks together. The alcohol content mellows out, but the crisp, smooth finish has made it a staple at company dinners and gatherings.
The Basic Ratio
The standard ratio is 3 parts soju to 7 parts beer. For a stronger kick, try 4:6 — or for something milder, go with 2:8.
